Responsibilities As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you help patients get well. You are the person who can bring their power back. In doing this, you will implement occupational therapy programs and activities, follow developed recovery plans, and deliver therapy treatments. You are a healer and a helper, and you approach each patient as an individual. Your goal is to execute a program that will restore, reinforce, and enhance their physical abilities and independence. You adapt to the needs of each patient, bring joy to the variety of the work and settings, collaborate with peers, and refer patients for additional care when needed. You put patients first and ensure that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program per AOTA & ACOTE standards.

Initial certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.

Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of practice.
