Under direction of a licensed dentist, provides oral health care to patients by cleaning, scaling and polishing teeth, taking x-rays, applying fluoride, applying preventative sealants and identifying patients in need of corrective dental care. Provides oral hygiene instructions to patients and families. Completes charting in the electronic health record. Qualifications
Knowledge of principles and procedures of dental hygiene acquired through completion of an accredited program in Dental Hygiene. Must possess and maintain current State of Wisconsin licensure as a Dental Hygienist. A minimum of one year of experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred. Requires excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact courteously and respectfully with patients, parents/families and members of the health care team. Knowledge of computer and keyboard, word processing skills and the ability to troubleshoot basic PC issues. Ability to stand/walk/move a moderate amount of time, sit frequently, reach moderately, bend/squat/kneel occasionally, push/pull 50 pounds occasionally, and lift/carry items weighing up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work flexible hours to meet patient care needs. CPR certification obtained within 90 days of hire - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required. Spanish speaking preferred. Certifications/Licenses
