Job Description
Join McLeod Health as a Medical Laboratory Tech (PRN Days) in Clarendon. The Medical Laboratory Tech analyzes biological samples in the laboratory, providing precise and accurate laboratory test results to assist in diagnosis and treatment. Collect, prepare, store and/or transport specimens using correct techniques, anticoagulants, and protocol while adhering to Service Excellence standards. Organize and perform analysis of specimens to include quality control while evaluating validity of results obtained. Follow all safety procedures and protocols. Perform routine and pre-routine maintenance. Train and document proficiency of assigned employees/students as directed. Receive incoming phone calls, document incoming requests for blood to be drawn, and follow through on collection. Assist in maintaining supplies. Coordinate daily technical activities and ensure tests are complete and accurate in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Qualified to perform moderate and highly complexity testing as defined by CLIA 88. Must obtain MLT/MLS certification within 6 months of hire. Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology required. About McLeod Health
