Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN is looking for an exceptional, patient-focused Paramedic to join our Emergency Department team and make a difference for our patients and community.
This position involves assessing, prioritizing, and coordinating patient needs upon their arrival to the Emergency Department (ED). The Paramedic must demonstrate the ability to efficiently complete and document functions to carry out specific physician and RN orders in the ED environment. Additionally, the Paramedic provides a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and performs duties as assigned by RNs and Medical Providers, working collaboratively with team members. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Our ED spans 50,000 square feet with 55 treatment rooms, including private rooms, an in-department radiology suite, discharge pharmacy, waiting and triage areas, employee lounge, locker room, and five care pods, including an 11-bed pod for behavioral health patients. The environment is fast-paced, with over 90,000 ED visits annually. Join our team and make a positive impact!
Work schedule:
11 AM - 11:30 PM, block shifts, every 3rd weekend. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and completion of a Paramedic education program. Licensed by the Minnesota EMS Regulatory Board (EMSRB) as a Paramedic. Certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as a Paramedic (preferred upon hire, required within 6 months). Successful completion of American Heart Association BLS and ACLS at the time of employment and every two years thereafter. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is preferred on hire, but required within 6 months and every two years thereafter.
