Position Purpose

Key Responsibilities

Evaluation and Implementation of Appropriate Care

Under the direction of the Radiologist and the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS), administers ionizing radiation for the purpose of diagnosis which includes positioning the x-ray beam with respect to the patient, anatomically positioning the patient, selecting exposure factors, and initiating exposure.

Quality of Care

The technologist provides evidence-based care so as to prevent the development of a Healthcare Acquired Condition and hospital readmissions. Comply with all regulatory, organizational, and departmental statutes, policies, and procedures.

Patient Satisfaction

Regularly applies AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) as well as other evidence-based behaviors when taking care of patients. Shows empathy care to patients and family members present.

Qualifications

Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program Current registration and licensure by the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) Current registration and licensure by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) American Heart Association BLS

Preferences

Education preferred from an educational institution approved by ARRT, Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT), or the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Work Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK REQUIREMENTS:

Able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously. Effective oral and written communication skills, compliant with KHI vision, mission, and values. Able to manage technical business equipment i.e. phone, fax, computer etc. Able to assist with the movement/manipulation of a patient and equipment weighing up to and over 300 lbs. Able to care for patients with infectious diseases. Able to sit, stand, walk, and bend for the duration of the scheduled shift. Able to demonstrate concentration and visual and auditory acuity to watch monitors and follow instructions during exams.
