Job Description The EMS Educator develops and implements all aspects of instruction for the assigned program (EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, or other instructional program) within the Grady EMS Education Academy. The Educator upholds the vision, mission, and core values of Grady Health System in day‑to‑day operations, maintains familiarity with EMS education standards and evidence‑based clinical care guidelines promulgated by all applicable regulatory agencies, and collaborates with the Program Director to create customized lesson plans and activities. The Educator ensures continuous programmatic quality improvement and serves as a department leader and proxy for the Program Director as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Bachelor's or advanced degree is preferred.
Two (2) or more years of experience in teaching EMS education or training courses.
Two (2) or more years of field experience as a Paramedic Clinician.
Experience teaching in a technical or 4‑year college institution.
Valid Driver’s License (or ability to attain within 30 days of employment).
Georgia EMS Instructor/Coordinator [Paramedic] license or EMS I/C with Paramedic Endorsement license.
Georgia Paramedic license.
National Registry Paramedic certification.
AHA CPR, ACLS required; Pediatric Life Support, AMLS, and PHTLS or ITLS must be obtained within 10‑months of employment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
Instructor certifications: AHDR, PTEP, GEMS, TECC.
National EMS Education Certification.
Completion of NAEMSE Instructor Level 1 and Level 2 Courses.
