Overview
The Service Technician (Boat Mechanic) is a skilled role responsible for performing mechanical repair and maintenance on boats and marine equipment to ensure reliability and performance of watercraft at Nautical Ventures. Responsibilities
Mechanical repairs: Diagnose and repair engines, propulsion systems, electrical components, and accessories on various boats and marine equipment. Diagnostic assessment: Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems. Parts replacement: Replace and install boat components such as engines, transmissions, steering systems, and other critical mechanical parts. Routine maintenance: Perform oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and system checks to keep watercraft operable. Quality control: Conduct quality checks to meet or exceed industry standards and safety requirements. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repair work, parts used, labor hours, and maintenance schedules. Safety compliance: Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment for boat maintenance. Customer interaction: Update boat owners on repair progress, explain recommendations, and respond to inquiries. Inventory management: Keep an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment, and order supplies as needed. Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in boat mechanical repair is preferred. Proven experience in boat mechanical repair with strong knowledge of boat systems and components. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment specific to boat maintenance. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities for boat mechanical issues. Effective communication and customer service orientation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work. Knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to a safe work environment on boats. Benefits
