Overview Job Title: Service Technician (Mid Atlantic Area)

Location: Multiple positions located at or near our Mid Atlantic US Customer Center Locations - Allentown, PA; Shrewsbury, PA; Richmond, VA; Greensboro, NC; Charlotte, NC. This role is typically not eligible for relocation. If a position is not currently open in an area that you are seeking employment, we will reach out to qualified candidates once an opening is available.

Salary: Starting pay range $25.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, hourly position. $3,000 Sign On Bonus.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Job Overview The Field Service Technician serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment and should have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed air equipment and interact with customers to address equipment concerns.

Collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs.

Assist and train apprentices and Field Service Technicians.

Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers (verbal and written).

Provide technical assistance on pre-commissioning, start-ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems, including hands-on work to ensure equipment operates to customer requirements with limited guidance from the Master Technician.

Increase customer awareness of Ingersoll Rand products, services, and solutions (e.g., Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits, and Leak Detection).

Requirements

2+ years of experience troubleshooting industrial or commercial mechanical systems.

Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations (e.g., DUI in last 5 years, Hit & Run, license suspension, reckless driving, or multiple preventable incidents in last 3 years).

On-call availability required after a 90-day acclimation period; on-call weeks occur approximately every 4 weeks or as determined by management.

Highly physical role requiring regular use of hands, walking, stooping, kneeling, and ability to lift or move weight in line with safety policy.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Core Competencies

Ability to read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.

Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation).

Basic vibration troubleshooting.

Basic air quality knowledge (system compressors/dryers and air treatment).

Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer use; proficiency with handheld devices and network bases.

Maintain proper business travel practices in a cost-efficient manner.

Preferences

Industrial air compressor maintenance knowledge.

EPA Certification.

Veterans/Active-Duty Military are encouraged to apply.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Service Technicians travel daily within a 3-hour radius of service area.
