Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Performs and/or assists in general mechanical duties.
Gain experience by working on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune‑up, and general maintenance with minimal supervision.
Works on major components under close supervision.
Performs troubleshooting on minor problems.
Attends training sessions and meetings.
Maintains a neat and orderly work area and proper handling of company tools.
Advises the shop foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Safety‑Sensitive Position This position is designated as safety‑sensitive. Performing duties while under the influence of marijuana or any other illegal drug constitutes a threat to health or safety, including operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, aircraft, motorized watercraft, or motor vehicles, or handling hazardous materials and/or waste.
Qualifications
CDL preferred.
Minimum three years hands‑on experience or completion of vocational courses.
A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
