Welding Paraprofessional (Career Technical Education) – Mt. Pleasant Campus, Gratiot-Isabella Technical Education Center. The following position is available for the 2025-2026 school year. Location & Reporting
Location: Gratiot-Isabella Technical Education Center – Mt. Pleasant Campus Reports To: GI-TEC Director Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Work experience in the manufacturing, machining or welding industry. Working knowledge of computers and software programs. Demonstrate competency in oral and written communication. Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional tact and diplomacy with students, teachers, administrators, parents and the community. Has undergone a physical examination, by a licensed physician, that documents capability to perform required duties. Has an electronic fingerprint clearance from a criminal history record check. Duties And Responsibilities
Support CTE students of all abilities in the classroom and off campus sites. Provide instruction and assessments to high school age students in all phases of the Welding classroom and lab settings. Assist students with organizing work, completing assignments, meeting deadlines, note taking, test preparation and test taking. Assist in the supervision of students in the lab to ensure all safety protocols and proper equipment use is being followed to maintain a safe learning environment. Maintain professional relationships with students, their families and co-workers. Maintain secure and confidential records of all department and District data while abiding by and upholding all Board policies and procedures. Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as assigned by the CTE Director or designee. Physical Demands & Work Environment
Physical Demands: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee is frequently required to reach with arms and hands, stand, walk and sit. The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, and distance vision. Work Environment: The labs are subject to temperature and/or dust. Noise level may be moderate to loud. Compensation & Evaluation
Compensation: This position works during scheduled student days (7 hours/day) with salary and benefits as outlined in the Agreement between the Mt. Pleasant Support Personnel Association and the Mt. Pleasant School District Board of Education. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions established in the same Agreement. Application Process
