The Medical Gas Equipment Technician is responsible for all medical gas systems and related equipment throughout PMPH locations including Main Hospitals and off-site facilities. This includes oxygen, nitrous oxide, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, and ensures they operate safely and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards. The technician works closely with clinical engineering, facilities management, and healthcare staff to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted delivery of medical gases critical to patient care. The role requires a thorough understanding of the technical specifications of medical gas delivery systems. Responsibilities
Handle and maintain medical gases including monitoring cylinder gas inventory and ensuring adequate supply and distribution to all departments and areas. Work with suppliers for ordering and maintaining par levels at assigned locations; maintain cylinder gas inventory levels by placing and processing orders for additional products. Identify low levels and notify supplier; receive cylinder gas deliveries and deliver cylinders to use points within service sites; change out gas cylinders at end-user manifolds at service sites. Keep the tank supply area neat and organized; maintain manifold room gas systems assuring adequate pressures and gas levels; monitor these levels daily; safely maintain inventory of medical gas cylinders and proper functioning of regulators. Ensure adequate supply and distribution to all other departments and locations. Monitor storage locations (PMPH and off-site) to ensure they meet current standards for storage of compressed cylinders; work with unit leadership to ensure compliance within standards. Participate in entity and department-wide initiatives for patient/employee safety; demonstrate awareness of safety when carrying out daily responsibilities. Collaborate with clinical staff to identify medical gas/tank needs and meet these needs. Note: will not be responsible for physically connecting any products in liquid or gaseous form to any device containing human samples. Keep departmental equipment area neat and organized and floor equipment areas stocked. Collaborate with Respiratory staff to identify equipment needs and meet these needs. Qualifications
Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required) Driver\'s License (Required) Education or Equivalent Experience
High School Diploma/GED (Required) Education specialization or equivalent experience: Medical gas or equipment experience. Salary
