Construction Inspector PTAN (Water/Wastewater) at Arcadis. The position is part-time as needed with hours varying by workload in the Plantation, Florida area. Role description
Arcadis is seeking a Part-time as Needed Construction Inspector to join our Construction Management Team in Plantation, Florida. The Inspector will utilize expertise in construction inspection, field management, QA / QC, and report documentation on municipal water and wastewater projects. The Inspector will report to the Resident Engineer and/or Project Manager and may lead other inspectors in completing tasks and providing regular updates on daily construction activities. Role accountabilities
Observe and inspect construction work performed by contractors; perform punch list inspections; review drawings and specifications and other technical documents; prepare detailed daily activity and progress reports/photos; participate in project schedule and contractor invoice reviews. Maintain quality assurance requirements and monitor code compliance issues. Inspect and determine deviations from general compliance with Contract Documents; inform the contractor of required corrections. Review submittals and other construction documents and recommend technical solutions. Attend and participate in construction meetings, safety meetings/updates and project site coordination meetings. Monitor and document contractor resource utilization (labor, materials, and equipment) for field changes; assist with negotiation of basic field construction changes. Verify equipment and materials installation for payment purposes; maintain Payment Quantity documentation. Perform mathematical calculations as necessary during inspection activities. Ensure Arcadis project safety guidelines are met during daily inspections. Some local travel may include project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, and construction oversight. Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications 10 years of mechanical/civil/utility construction inspection experience. Key Skills/Attributes Identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to problems; strong math aptitude; ability to multi-task; solid time management; proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook). Ability to work year-round in various weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications 15+ years of civil/utility construction inspection experience; experience on various infrastructure projects; NASSCO ITCP / PACP certifications; ACI or NICET certifications; OSHA 10 Safety and Confined Space Entry Training; active participation in professional associations.
