Flavor Lab Technician
Job Description This position plays a crucial role in supporting chemists by assisting with the development of nutritional flavor systems for beverage and food manufacturing. You will independently manage flavor projects, including specification and test development of finished flavors.
Responsibilities
Compound, weigh, and prepare flavors, bases, and concentrates.
Prepare test samples, food and beverage innovations, customer samples, and flavor standards.
Organize, catalog, and maintain records and inventory of raw materials and finished products.
Conduct sensory and technical tests for all formulations.
Collect and compile necessary information for test requests.
Communicate effectively with flavor chemists, QA, sales teams, and customers.
Prepare, maintain, and process lab projects, samples, records, standards, documentation, equipment, supplies, chemicals, solutions, concentrates, bases, and flavors.
Essential Skills
Degree in food science, chemistry, or a related field.
Experience in a Food and Beverage environment.
Proficiency in precise measurement techniques and testing development.
Knowledge of laboratory quality assurance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with flavors is a plus.
Ability to follow strict recipes.
Attention to detail with precise measurements.
Work Environment
You will be part of a small, intimate team working in a lab setting.
The role involves significant time spent mixing flavors and developing products.
This position provides exposure to the entire lifecycle of a flavor, collaborating with customers to create the perfect product.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Newport News, VA.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
