About the Role Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced

Professional Mechanical Engineer (PE)

to join their growing team. The successful candidate will take a leading role in the design and delivery of mechanical and plumbing systems for data centers, industrial facilities, and other large‑scale construction projects.

This position is fully remote; however, preference will be given to candidates located in

Austin, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Atlanta, GA, Reno, NV, Grand Rapids, MI, or Las Vegas, NV . Periodic travel to these locations may be required for site visits, client meetings, and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage mechanical design projects through all phases of design and construction.

Design mechanical and plumbing systems for mission‑critical facilities, including data centers.

Oversee the production of mechanical designs, systems, and construction drawings.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams, contractors, and owners to develop coordinated and high‑quality deliverables.

Coordinate with external vendors, manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure technical accuracy and project alignment.

Perform major equipment selection, scheduling, and specification development.

Conduct site visits and client meetings to observe installations and ensure design intent is achieved.

Qualifications

7+ years

of professional mechanical engineering design experience with a focus on data centers or other mission‑critical projects.

Valid Mechanical P.E. license

and a

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

(EITs on track for licensure may also be considered).

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC design, and applicable energy codes.

Proven ability to manage projects independently and provide mentorship to junior staff.

Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities (both written and verbal).

Strategic thinker with flexibility to adapt to evolving project needs and long‑term objectives.

Proficiency in

AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, BlueBeam, and MS Office .

Self‑motivated and collaborative, with a passion for problem‑solving and delivering excellence.
