Minimum Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Ultrasound Technology program.
Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent credential.
Valid state licensure or certification as required by Arizona regulations.
Demonstrated experience in performing musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging, preferably related to foot and ankle anatomy.
Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics, anatomy, and pathology relevant to musculoskeletal imaging.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a podiatry, vascular or orthopedic clinical setting.
Additional certifications in vascular sonography or related specialties.
Familiarity with other imaging modalities such as X-Ray, Mammography, or Nuclear Medicine.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and radiology information systems (RIS).
Strong communication skills and experience in patient care and education.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations of lower extremities according to established protocols and physician requests.
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality for accurate imaging.
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and addressing any concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation.
Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to review images and provide preliminary observations when appropriate.
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, documenting procedures, findings, and any relevant observations.
Adhere to all safety and infection control standards to protect patients and staff.
Assist in scheduling and coordinating patient appointments to optimize clinic workflow.
Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advances in ultrasound technology and best practices.
