The PGY1/2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency Program at AdventHealth integrates clinical practice with Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA)/Master of Business Administration (MBA) coursework and informatics rotations to develop a foundation upon which the resident will build a career in health-system pharmacy informatics. The first year of this PGY1/2 program aims for the resident to develop a strong clinical foundation with various opportunities to engage in administrative experiences. The second year focuses on the informatics aspect of this residency. Residents provide evidence-based patient care, lead process improvement initiatives, direct operational or clinical changes based on capabilities and limitations of available pharmacy automation systems and the electronic health record system, and serve as subject matter experts on the technology-related aspects of the medication use process for the enterprise. Graduates are highly competitive for a variety of health-system leadership, IT, and vendor roles. The dual MHA/MBA degree positions the resident for senior healthcare executive roles. Applicants must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Eligibility for Florida licensure is required to apply with licensure process completed by October 1st of the first residency year. Applicants must participate in the PhORCAS and the National Matching Services processes. The following application materials must be submitted by the deadline (January 3, 2026): curriculum vitae, letter of intent, three letters of recommendation utilizing the PhORCAS template, and transcripts from all colleges attended.
