Responsibilities Include

Maintains and implements nursing policies and procedures that reflect current standards of nursing practice, company philosophy, and facility practices; ensures compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Communicates and interprets policies to nursing staff; monitors practices for effective implementation and results. Conducts resident assessments and suggests level of service packages to residents and their families as directed. Ensures delivery of compassionate quality care with adequate services and staff coverage, appropriate staffing, cleanliness, absence of odors, and maintenance of residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Demonstrates knowledge of and applies Key Clinical Quality Indicators; proactively monitors and implements systems to meet or exceed company thresholds. Reviews 24-hour unit reports daily to ensure timely, effective responses to significant changes, transfers, discharges, restraints, injuries, abuse or neglect, medication errors, loss of resident property, or resident/family dissatisfaction, as directed. Gathers and analyzes facts, assesses situations, develops actions to investigate, notify appropriate parties, resolve issues, record facts, and prevent recurrence. Communicates findings to the Wellness Director or Executive Director.

Education And Experience

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Two-year professional nursing experience in a senior living care setting. Two years supervisory/management experience with direct care staff. Some states may allow this to be an unlicensed position (WI, TX, SC).
