Overview
Perform responsible technical work on patients in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Operate various equipment and support physicians during procedures. Ensure proper operation of x‑ray equipment and maintain radiation safety.

USD $45.64 / Hr.
Sign‑on bonus $20,000‑$40,000.
Education
Graduate of an approved School of Radiology or equivalent training.
Licensure / Certification / Registry
Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety license required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certificate required. Basic EKG class completed within one year of hire. ACLS certification required. Experience Minimum two years’ experience as a Cardiac Specialty Procedures Tech. Other Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Completion of radiation safety classes within 90 days of employment required. Responsibilities
Operate a variety of electrical equipment in a cardiovascular catheterization laboratory during procedures. Monitor the patient’s electrocardiogram, alert the physician of irregular heart activity, and charge the patient appropriately. Perform patient pre‑procedure teaching and obtain consent forms signed by the patient prior to the procedure. Prepare the patient for the procedure and act as a circulator, connecting monitoring lines, checking pulses, and setting up appropriate equipment. Assist the physician as a sterile assistant, maintaining a sterile field and inserting equipment. Maintain equipment, correct malfunctions, and report for repair. Record, interpret, and calculate data collected during the procedure. Instruct technologists and others in technical procedures and equipment operation. Demonstrate knowledge of the proper operation of x‑ray equipment used in the Cath Lab and monitor quality assurance. Participate in the on‑call rotation and adhere to behavioral standards. Qualifications
Graduate of an approved School of Radiology or equivalent training. Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety license required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certificate required.
