Job Description Summary Under general supervision of a Senior Equity Analyst, analyze and interpret clinical and equity‑related data, conduct research and provide opinion on issues that may impact investment decisions. Conduct research studies of existing and potential investments in the biotech sector and develop investment theses. The analysis may focus on an individual security, clinical data, physician interviews, literature reviews, and critical evaluation of scientific data. Identify and investigate factors influencing investment decisions. Quantify risks and rewards, recommend acquiring, holding, or disposing of investments, and monitor designated investments for trends and conditions. The ideal candidate is client‑service oriented, detail‑oriented, and thrives in a team‑driven fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

Develop expertise on the biotechnology industry and individual biotech companies to assess the impact of clinical data readouts and other news.

Prepare and coordinate completion of data and analytics reports, including financial models for revenue and income forecasts, cash flow analysis, balance sheet, and quarterly projections.

Assemble and analyze clinical, scientific and other data to inform investment ideas and market outlook.

Explore and develop understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to their impact assessment.

Build effective working relationships within the internal client organization, delivering high‑quality services with guidance from senior colleagues.

Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment activities, training and coaching; maintain external professional accreditation where relevant.

Maintain understanding of relevant technology, regulation and industry best practices through ongoing education, conferences and specialist media.

Skills

Analyze clinical data under general supervision.

Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal and external clients.

Create relevant, lucid investment reports.

Understand accounting and financial statement analysis.

Support business processes and guide others.

Equivalent work experience: Ph.D./MD/PharmD required.

Life science or business/finance background preferred.

Data analytics/coding skills preferred.

Licensing Obtain Series SIE, 86/87, and 63 licenses within one year of start date.

Education Bachelor’s in Biochemistry, Biology, or Neuroscience (Required).

Work Experience 3 to 6 years of general experience.

Certifications Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE) – FINRA.

Salary Range $80,000 – $150,000.

Travel Less than 25%.
