The Biostatistician Lead is a leadership role responsible for coordinating biostatistical efforts across multiple projects, managing a team of statisticians, and upholding methodological rigor. This position plays a critical role in strategic planning, project oversight, and the integration of statistical analyses into research initiatives. The Lead assumes expanded responsibilities, including mentoring junior staff, developing and implementing departmental policies, and driving continuous improvement in biostatistical practices. This role is essential in fostering a collaborative research environment and ensuring that biostatistical activities align with the organization’s strategic goals. Key Roles & Responsibilities

Provide leadership and mentorship in biostatistical design, analysis, and interpretation for observational studies, randomized trials, and biomarker-driven research Develop, review, and implement statistical analysis plans (SAPs) for clinical and translational studies, ensuring methodological rigor and reproducibility Apply and guide the use of advanced statistical methods, including survival analysis, longitudinal modeling, causal inference, and predictive modeling Oversee analyses of large-scale datasets (UKBiobank, multi-omics, EHR-linked cohorts), ensuring high-quality data management, cleaning, and integration Collaborate with clinicians, bioinformaticians, and epidemiologists to design studies and interpret results in the context of translational research Support and lead the development of risk scores, polygenic risk models, and biomarker-based prediction models for cardiovascular outcomes Provide statistical input for manuscripts, grant applications, and presentations, ensuring clarity and scientific rigor Establish and maintain best practices for data integrity, reproducibility, and documentation of statistical workflows Mentor junior statisticians, analysts, and trainees, fostering an environment of learning and excellence Perform other duties as assigned Compensation & Salary Range

This position is assigned to Wage Grade W.G.385 with a full Compensation-approved range of $73,945-$120,165 annually (midpoint $96,130). Final offers will be made within this grade range based on the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, and the department’s budgeted amount for the role. Applicants whose stated salary expectations fall outside the posted grade range may not be considered. Education

Doctorate degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience OR Master’s degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and seven (7) years of related experience required Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement Primary Location
