Overview
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a Vitreoretinal Surgeon to join the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. This is a full-time clinical position as a Vitreoretinal Surgeon Ophthalmologist. Duties And Responsibilities
The Division Director and/or Department Chair assign work. Faculty members are expected to perform the full range of teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Clinical services are a component of faculty responsibility, with or without the presence of a trainee. The department supports opportunities to pursue research, quality improvement initiatives, curriculum development, and education initiatives, or other activities aligned with the faculty assignment. Faculty members are expected to teach, which may include clinical or didactic teaching and may involve medical students, residents, fellows, undergraduate and graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows. Service commitments include OSUWMC facilities and other clinical sites as assigned. Active participation in divisional, departmental, and college committee functions is expected. Participation in local, regional, or national professional organizations is also expected. Requirements
Due to contractual agreements with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. citizenship is required for participation in this role. Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified in Ophthalmology by the time of appointment and be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio. Qualified candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and have completed an approved residency program in Ophthalmology, as well as subspecialty fellowship training in Surgical Retina. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials. Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of Surgical Retina. Demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery by evidence of basic and/or clinical applied research and publications. Commitment to residents, fellows, and medical students is required.
