Job Description
Looking for a fun and flexible work environment? Dramby Environmental Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking Environmental Scientists to join our growing team to provide technical support on a variety of projects throughout Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland. This position will support our compliance team with erosion and sediment control/stormwater inspections and reporting. Ideal candidates will have a B.S. in Environmental Studies (or related field) and 3-5 years of experience performing erosion and sediment control and stormwater inspections.
Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Inspector Certifications are required . Maryland Erosion and Sediment Control Certifications are preferred. Candidates should be detail oriented and possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct onsite inspections of construction sites for erosion and sediment control/stormwater management compliance
Document and record findings in accordance with established procedures and permit requirements
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies regarding environmental concerns
Coordinate with clients in both written and verbal formats
Communicate and collaborate with Project Managers to ensure consistency in project execution
Assist in the creation of technical documents in support of regulatory submissions, including but not limited to permit applications, SWPPPs and compliance reports
Provide technical and regulatory support for development projects from project planning to completion including field and office support
Local and regional day travel required
Qualifications
Virginia DEQ Erosion and Sediment Control / Stormwater Management Inspector Certification required
Maryland MDE Erosion and Sediment Control Certification preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of ESC/SWM inspection experience
Experience with land disturbing activities requiring ESC/SWM/SWPPP compliance
B.S. or similar degree in environmental, engineering or related field
DOT Hazardous Materials Trained preferred
Hazwoper preferredStrong technical writing skills
Effective communication, attention to detail and good organizational skills
Familiarity with federal and state regulations and permitting requirements
Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel
Ability to independently manage time and work within established budgets
Valid driver’s license and clean driving and criminal records
Ability to travel to job locations on a daily basis
Ability to work in a variety of terrains and weather conditions
