Position Description:
The University of Iowa, Department of Internal Medicine Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism is seeking qualified faculty members to join our team at the rank of Assistant and Associate Professor on the clinical track. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading academic institution dedicated to advancing knowledge in weight management while providing high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities include:
Patient Care:
Conduct evaluations of patients, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests to identify endocrine and metabolic disorders. Duties include outpatient clinics at various locations in Iowa City. Diagnosis and Treatment:
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including dietary guidance, physical activity, behavioral strategies, and medical interventions. Patient Education:
Inform patients about their conditions and provide lifestyle modification guidance, including diet and exercise recommendations. Collaboration:
Work with other faculty to enhance clinical services and research. Participate in interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. Research and Teaching:
Engage in clinical research related to endocrinology and metabolism. Mentor students, residents, and staff in endocrine disease management. Compliance:
Adhere to all care standards and regulations, including HIPAA. About Iowa City:

MD or DO:
Degree from an ACGME-accredited institution. Training:
Completion of Internal Medicine residency. Certifications
Board Certification:
Must be certified or in the process of certification in Internal Medicine or equivalent. Desirable Qualifications
Training:
Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism. Certification:
Board certified or eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Experience:
