Overview
The School of Nursing invites applications for Part-Time Instructors for the Spring 2026 semester. Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester‑by‑semester basis to teach nursing courses. Clinical and/or didactic instructors will teach adult health, pediatrics, maternity, and mental health in our traditional, accelerated, and RN‑BSN entry options and/or applicable Psych‑Mental Health NP or Post‑Master's TL DNP tracks. The successful candidate is expected to teach introductory and advanced level courses and to contribute to the program by engaging in activities described below.
Responsibilities Planning and providing clinical instruction and experiences that reflect the philosophy, objectives, and curriculum of the nursing program.
Facilitating student achievement of course objectives/outcomes through varied teaching methods and evaluating student performance.
Serving as a nursing resource for healthcare and local agencies.
Utilizing feedback from student and faculty evaluations for instructional improvement.
Serving as a professional role model for students in professional, social, and civic areas.
Utilizing evidence‑based research in teaching and the practice of nursing.
This is a temporary, semester‑based position.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate degree in Nursing and a minimum of two years of full‑time employment or equivalent in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse verified with the Board of Nursing. For the DNP track, the candidate must hold a terminal degree in nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with a Master’s or Doctorate in nursing and 1–3 years of teaching experience at the university or community college level are preferred.
Required License or Certification
Current unrestricted RN license to practice in the state of North Carolina.
Remote/Hybrid Work
