AdventHealth Apopka is a seven-story, 120-bed hospital offering an extensive range of services including expanded surgical services, advanced surgical suites and a catheterization lab The hospital features a 30,000-square-foot emergency department with pediatric-friendly beds, imaging services, a full-service cafeteria, chapel, gift shop and on-site fire station The hospital opened in December 2017, replacing the 50-bed hospital that AdventHealth had operated in downtown Apopka for more than four decades The Role You'll Contribute
The
Vascular Ultrasound Technologist , under general supervision, performs a wide range of sonography and vascular procedures in accordance with department protocols, contributing to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic information for treatment and prognosis of vascular disorders and other medical conditions. This role conducts ultrasound procedures across a broad spectrum of patient ages and ensures high-quality exams for interpretation by medical professionals such as Cardiologists and clinic physicians. In addition to routine diagnostic tasks, the technologist assists physicians with interventional procedures as a guidance tool where necessary. The position requires understanding of department and hospital policies relevant to Sonography and Vascular Surgery and expects independent judgment, initiative, and responsibility for designated areas or procedures. Engagement in the performance improvement program and adherence to the Corporate Compliance Plan are essential. The role emphasizes outstanding customer service and may involve teaching and directing the work of other staff and students. The
Value You'll Bring To The Team Exam Supervision and Administration: Obtain high quality scans, follow exam protocols, verify patient identity, document procedures per policy, adapt procedures to patient needs, and maintain confidentiality. Diagnostic Image Quality and Documentation: Review images, complete ultrasound worksheets, re-scan as needed, accept critique, and assist with clinical instructions while staying current with new procedures. Qualifications
Education And Experience Required Graduate of Ultrasound Program Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AB) ARDMS or ARRT Abdomen (OBGYN) ARDMS or ARRT - Obstetrics and Gynecology RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist OR RVS Registered Vascular Sonographer Education And Experience Preferred Graduate of Vascular Ultrasound Program Associates or Bachelors in a health-care related field (BR) ARDMS or ARRT Breast Sonography This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
