Apollo Medical . The Physical Therapy Assistant (“PTA”) provides physical therapy services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The PTA works as a collaborative member of the patient’s care team, working across the interdisciplinary care team, physicians, and other stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist the physical therapist in following physical therapy care plans.
Prepare clinical and progress notes and help develop the treatment plan.
Perform PT services in line with the care plan and physician orders.
Consult with the physical therapist regarding changes in treatment.
Instruct patients and caregivers on in-home programs and activities of daily living.
Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences to contribute to patient updates, discharge planning, etc.
Advises and consults with agency personnel and patient family/caregivers.
Confirm weekly scheduling of visits with supervising physical therapist, care team, office staff, etc.
