Bechtel is partnering with NextDecade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel.
The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
Job Summary
In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Major Responsibilities
Work Planning & Packaging: Prepares construction drawings and sketches, facilitates planning construction methods and procedures. Material Management: Initiates requisitions for field purchases, prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. Quantities: Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required. Safety / Quality Control: Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area. Technical: Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities. System Turnover Coordinator: Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development. STR / Subcontract Coordinator: Reviews and approves inspection test plans, coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals. Education And Experience Requirements
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge And Skills
Technical knowledge of all phases of construction engineering relating to a single discipline interfacing with all areas, or in a multi-discipline position assigned to a single area. Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration. Familiar with Bechtel’s Business Ethics handbook and policies. Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
