Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our team in the automotive manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving and maintaining production processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety across operations. Experience with casting and or machining is required. Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Optimization
Develop, document, and refine manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools. Troubleshoot production issues and implement root cause solutions. Tooling & Equipment Support
Work with cross-functional teams on equipment selection, setup, and validation. Collaborate with tooling teams on tool design and improvements for manufacturing efficiency. Quality & Compliance
Monitor process stability and product quality using SPC and other statistical tools. Support quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and other relevant standards. Conduct process audits and participate in FMEA and control plan development. Project & Product Launches
Support the launch of new products and engineering changes by developing robust processes and work instructions. Participate in design reviews and provide input on manufacturability. Safety & Environmental Compliance
Ensure processes meet all safety, health, and environmental regulations. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the manufacturing team. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline. 2–5+ years of experience in a process engineering or manufacturing role, preferably within the automotive industry. Experience with casting processes (high pressure, low pressure, gravity, etc) and or machining is required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping). Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams. Skills
Familiarity with die casting equipment and process simulation software (e.g., MAGMASOFT, FLOW-3D) is a plus. Exposure to GD&T, control plans, and APQP documentation. Six Sigma certification or lean manufacturing training is advantageous. Working Conditions
Primarily based in a plant environment with occasional travel to other facilities or suppliers. May require standing, walking, and interaction with machinery in a production setting.
