Job Description
Location: Stoughton, WI 53589 Job Title: Mechanical Engineer / Product Engineer Duration: 7+ months Position Summary: Applies basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks in the design, development, analysis, and release of products and subsystems through the product life cycle. Assists in creating design specifications considering application, cost, weight, performance, product life, manufacturing, assembly, and service. Verifies design using analysis and/or functional testing, interprets results, drives decisions, and assesses risk. Works with other engineering disciplines and cross-functional teams to resolve product issues. Evaluates customer needs and aligns requirements with customer expectations. Responsibilities include: Using prescribed and innovative methods with limited guidance. Participating as a team member and contributing towards team goals. Carrying out partially defined and moderately complex tasks. Demonstrating good understanding and application of engineering principles. Applying engineering and scientific skills, developing experience in creating engineering solutions. Nice to haves: 3D modeling Analysis Led Design (ALD) Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Statistical software experience Qualifications
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required; preference for Mechanical Engineering, but other engineering degrees are acceptable. Experience with cross-functional design reviews. Knowledge of technical documentation development. Understanding of product structure, item compatibility, dependencies, and relationships.
