Position
Fleet Mechanic $28 per hour – $30 per hour Rotation shifts availability based on operations need during Deicing season, 4x10 shifts in the Shoulder season At Inland Deicing Services, our sole focus is the safe, efficient, and professional delivery of deicing and anti-icing services to our carrier customers. Mechanics play an important role in ensuring proper performance, safety and reliability of vehicles and ground service equipment. Responsibilities
Accountable for local maintenance scheduling and performance to ensure equipment dependability; Perform all duties of a skilled maintenance technician following recognized procedures for such work, as required; Ability to read and use maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and other related maintenance documents to complete work assignments; Ability to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic problems and resolve within an established timeframe; Maintain complete and accurate maintenance records and conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections on equipment; Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; Must be at least 18 years old; Must be able to speak and hear efficiently; Basic to intermediate computer skills; Effective time management and organizational skills to manipulate multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines at once; Knowledge of fluid types, diesel powered machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance; Maintain and treat all information as confidential; Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English; Must be able to verbally direct in English; Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives; Proven knowledge and use of standard and specialty tools and specialized testing equipment (i.e. photo tachometer, diagnostics tools and hardware, scanners and meters); A valid driver's license is required for this position. Candidates must have your own basic set of tools (sockets/wrenches) up to 1" in size and up to 1/2" drive. Work Environment
Physically strenuous, prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to noise (may be excessive at times), safe but potentially unpleasant odors, varying temperatures and humidity, in and around heavy moving equipment. Physical Demands
Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, speak and hear efficiently; Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling; Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
