MEP Coordinator - Critical Facility Construction - New Albany, OH / Remote

Responsible for field activities associated with the project, including coordinating all field construction trades, subs, and vendors regarding equipment delivery, integration and commissioning as it relates to mechanical, electrical and plumbing / MEP systems. Maintain constant contact with subcontractors to ensure timely work to keep the project on schedule and within budget. Ensure equipment purchased is on site when needed; manage and update change orders. Assist the construction project manager in developing the project budget, actively participating in the preconstruction phase, and ensuring the project is built on time, within budget, and according to company policies and procedures. Maintain a focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations through the life of the project. Success in this role requires technical knowledge of data center and construction, along with strong communication skills and hands-on experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM), Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk tools, etc. Responsibilities

Lead MEP coordination efforts using BIM / Virtual Construction tools such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, etc. Maintain liaison with primary client, A/E firm, Owner's Rep firm, Construction Project Manager, subcontractors and other vendors to facilitate construction activities at the data center job site. Manage bid processes, develop scope sheets for MEP systems, and evaluate trade partner deliverables. Establish and manage project objectives for the critical work environment, performance standards, planning and Methods of Procedure within corporate policies to minimize downtime and human error during work processes. Drive system integration by resolving issues, facilitate design reviews and collaborate across multiple teams and vendors. Conduct BIM clash detection and resolution to optimize MEP layouts. Provide leadership and conduct coordination meetings with all stakeholders regarding field related MEP mission critical work activities. Coordinate with Construction Project Manager and Subcontractors for proper execution, and provide documentation for all MEP scopes. Keep all relative parties informed of project progress throughout the life of the project. Demonstrate a detailed understanding of all MEP systems including sizing, costs, scheduling timeline, quality control focus points, system start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, etc. Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interest and maintain good client relationships. Ensure project site and company assets are secure and maintain a safe and respectful working environment by implementing safety/OSHA, EEO, risk management, training and quality control programs. Confirm that change orders from subcontractors/suppliers are reasonable and work is correctly executed; coordinate with the project manager for approval on extra charges. Facilitate weekly project progress and safety meetings with subcontractor representatives and coordinate the upcoming week’s work. Attend progress meetings with the owner’s representative / data center construction project manager. Ensure the project closeout process is finalized, demobilize resources, and transition the project to the client. Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on MEP and BIM-related issues and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications. Oversee and coordinate the start-up and commissioning process, including participation in planning and execution. Requirements

Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (a plus) or equivalent trade experience. 3 to 5+ years of commercial / critical facilities MEP Construction experience. (Experience is a large factor based on project size, scope, and complexity.) Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD; BIM 360 or ACC a plus. Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) experience a huge plus. Detailed understanding of Mechanical and Electrical systems including integrated testing, MEP system installation and sequencing, commissioning, MOPs/SOPs of installation, functionality and troubleshooting; turnover, etc. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders. Strong presentation, verbal, written and communication skills. Proficiency with PC and company tools (email, internet, Microsoft Office suite, MS Project, Timberline, etc.).
