Position Title: Mixing Plant Operator

Company Overview American Well Services is located in Midland, TX, and provides well service rigs for workover or completion operations. The company offers additional wellsite support services including fluid transfer, fishing and rental services, hot oiling, frac tank rental, and wellsite construction. Position Overview A Mixing Plant Operator is accountable for the safe operation of the assigned mixing plant equipment and is responsible for running mixing plant coil tubing and stick pipe drill‑outs. The operator must have a complete understanding of fluids and chemical compatibilities.

Responsibilities

Service and maintain mixing plant equipment.

Perform routine preventative maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Safely operate pumps for liquid transfer.

Maintain and record accurate tank fluid levels.

Rig up and rig down fluid mixing plant on coil tubing unit, stick pipe drill‑outs, or workover locations.

Rig up mixing plant to reverse pumps for stick pipe units and coil tubing pump trucks.

Mix chemicals to control downhole pressures.

Communicate with on‑site crews and company representatives to use correct chemical quantities based on well conditions.

Safely rig up and rig down equipment used for mixing plant operations.

Follow and support all AWS HSE policies, procedures, and best practices.

Use appropriate PPE at all times.

Drive company vehicles over various road conditions and terrain, including highways, rural roads, paved and gravel surfaces, and off‑road situations.

Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) year of experience running mixing plant, coil tubing, and stick pipe drill‑outs.

Demonstrated knowledge of fluid and chemical compatibilities.

Knowledge of Aphron Light Weight Fluid systems (preferred).

Prior experience with a computer‑based workorder system (preferred).

Prior experience with KPA (preferred).

Basic math, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR.

Ability to communicate, read, and write in English.

Able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.

Mobility, including the ability to enter confined spaces and use access devices up to 15 feet.

Experience working rotational shift work, inclement weather, and/or manual labor (preferred).

Ability to clear and pass pre‑employment screening, testing, and job‑relevant hiring requirements.

Class A (CDL) (preferred).

Physical Conditions

Proof of eligibility to work in the United States, as required by law.

Ability to stand, walk, use hands and arms, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.

Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Ability to work in wet, humid, and extreme heat/cold conditions.

Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, and moderate to loud noise, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE.

This position routinely works alone at a location and cannot rely on supervision or assistance from others.
