$22.00/hr - $27.00/hr Tectonic is seeking full-time Construction Inspectors to work on upcoming projects throughout the Hudson Valley, NY area! This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects and for professional growth and advancement! Essential Functions
Travel to various field project sites Monitor construction operations Collect samples of materials as needed and when applicable Utilize field testing equipment to determine compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards Review approved plans, specifications, and submittals for inspection requirements Ensure compliance with inspection requirements in accordance with applicable codes, approved plans, and specifications Process daily field reports and inspection reports and notify of any discrepancies Communicate with project managers, colleagues, and contractors as required Testing procedures may include field testing and sampling of concrete per ASTM standards, in-place density testing of soils and/or asphalt, coring operations, and inspections for more experienced technicians (e.g., structural masonry inspections, soils sampling, and steel inspection). Qualifications
HS Diploma/equivalent and one or more of the listed certifications (valid): ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector and/or Concrete Field Testing Technician NETTCP HMA Plant Technician (Hot Mix Asphalt Density Testing Inspector) ICC certifications (Masonry, Structural Steel & Bolting, Structural Welding, Soils, etc.) NICET Concrete/Asphalt/Soils I+ and other applicable valid certifications or relevant work experience Ability to complete OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety and Health Training within a reasonable period after employment Ability to review and understand industry standards, plans, and specifications and recognize deficiencies Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, clients, contractors, and inspectors regarding specifications and test results Ability to record project data and complete required field inspection reports Valid driver’s license and transportation to travel to project sites (regular daily travel required) Physical Requirements Stationary positions as needed Handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials, and equipment Move around on job sites, including stairs/ladder access, to obtain testing materials and equipment Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs for some inspections Good visual skills and depth perception Operate a motor vehicle as part of daily duties Employees may be required to undergo substance abuse testing per project requirements, US DOT Regulations, and/or Company policy.
