Manufacturing Process Engineer
Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for the assembly and testing of solenoid-operated valves and valve systems. Job Description
This role requires a team‑oriented individual with a broad range of technical skills and a strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical aptitude, hands‑on problem‑solving skills, and a drive for manufacturing excellence. The position is part of the New Process Engineering Team, focusing on assembly, building fixtures/tooling, work instructions, and planning. Responsibilities
Create and maintain process documentation, including process flows, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and tooling planning. Design and implement custom test and assembly equipment, including jigs, fixtures, and tools using 3D CAD software. Generate detailed engineering drawings, including mechanical prints for components, complex assemblies, and pneumatic/electrical schematics. Perform time studies, process capacity analysis, and machine/tooling planning. Validate production processes and equipment to industry and customer standards. Conduct training sessions with operators, technicians, and supervisors on new processes or technologies. Provide engineering input during the product development and design phases. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (design, quality, and production) to integrate process improvements. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling, equipment, process flow, and material handling. Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, but Manufacturing Technology or Electrical degrees are acceptable. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (process, manufacturing, or tooling engineering). Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Solid Edge. Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and material properties. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience in lean manufacturing, FMEA, PFMEA, SPC, electromechanical assembly, precision components, and valve manufacturing. Nice To Have Qualifications
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, PFMEA, and SPC. Experience with electromechanical assembly, precision components, or valve manufacturing. Work Environment
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor over New Processes, the engineer will work on a team with four other manufacturing process engineers. The company specializes in the design and manufacturing of pneumatic and fluid control valves, valve systems, and customized products for various industries. The workplace encourages learning and skill development, offering a collaborative environment. Hours
8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with some flexibility. 60% on the floor and 40% in the office. Pay and Benefits
Pay range: $31.25 – $38.46 per hour. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements and may vary by classification and length of employment.
