CNC Systems Maintenance Technologist in Longmont

Role mission Keep our CNC assets safe, accurate, and dependable while elevating their performance. You’ll execute PMs, solve complex failures, assist with new equipment installs, and drive reliability improvements across the facility.

How you’ll contribute

Plan and perform daily/weekly/monthly preventive maintenance; track all work

Service CNC tools end-to-end: fluids/filters, calibration checks, accuracy verification

Maintain plant systems including CNC lathes and mills, kaiser compressors, and wet deburring (including Roto finish)

Proactively change wear parts (belts, seals, filters) before they fail

Inspect coolant circuits, air lines, and safety interlocks

Quickly troubleshoot and repair breakdowns to restore uptime

Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems

Repair/replace motors, drives, sensors, ball screws, spindles, relays, and more

Find root causes of recurring issues and implement permanent solutions

Recommend and execute reliability upgrades and control/automation retrofits

Assist with new machine installations: airlines, assisting riggers, and network cabling; coordinate outside services when needed

What you’ve done

3–5+ years in CNC machine maintenance within a high‑mix, low‑volume shop

Hands‑on with 3-, 4-, and 5‑axis mills; lathes; mill‑turns; bar feeders; chip conveyors; coolant systems

Deep experience repairing spindles, ball screws, bearings, couplings, motors, drives, relays, contractors, sensors, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems

Consistent execution of scheduled PMs via checklists or CMMS

Track record of measurable reliability gains

Your technical toolkit

CNC machine construction and operation (mills, lathes, mill‑turns)

Fanuc, Okuma, and Siemens controls: parameters, ladder logic, alarms

Machine tool geometry: backlash, alignment, leveling

Peripheral systems: bar feeders, chip conveyors, coolant

Electrical/mechatronics: AC/DC and servo motors; drives; encoders; fuses; breakers; relays; contractors

Read and apply electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

Working conditions

Active manufacturing floor with noise, moving equipment, cranes, forklifts, and compressed air systems

Exposure to chips, cutting fluids, coolants, dust, grease, and oil

Work in tight spaces, on ladders, and under machines

Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, crouching

Extended use of hand/power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment

Lift up to 50 lbs.; heavier loads with assistance

Compensation $35 - $40 per hour
