Job Title Electro-Mechanical Technician

Location Richmond, VA (Plant 2)

What We Are Looking For We need an Electro-Mechanical Technician who will provide routine maintenance support in a highly automated environment.

This multi‑craft position covers electrical, mechanical, and electronic work, troubleshooting industrial equipment and ensuring preventive maintenance and rapid repairs for trouble calls from Production Leaders.

Responsibilities

Assist other technicians in repairing and maintaining equipment.

Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings, schematics, and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeter, laptop).

Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic systems, control components, and industrial machinery.

Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components (seals, gaskets, bearings, motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, etc.).

Troubleshoot complex electrical/electronic issues with equipment, networks, PLCs, and I/O devices where the fault is not immediately obvious.

Basic Qualifications

Enrolled in Trade/Technical School certification.

4+ years of industrial mechanical troubleshooting and repair.

3+ years of industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair.

Proficient with required tools and able to follow instructions with good judgment.

Positive attitude and strong computer skills for interfacing with machinery programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Trade/Technical School certification.

5+ years of industrial mechanical troubleshooting and repair.

5+ years of industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair.

Experience with robotics, controls troubleshooting, and networking troubleshooting.

Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures, NEC rules, and regulations.

Team player with excellent collaboration skills.

Strong understanding of electrical power, control, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical principles.

Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.

Fit for the Role

Proficient with all electrical measuring instruments.

Skillful in installing equipment, machine controls, conduit, and wiring.

Effective prioritization and multitasking under minimal supervision.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to read, understand, and fabricate from basic sketches or drawings.

Comfortable working with operators, mechanics, contractors, and vendors.
