Design and Development: Design and development of mechanical systems and components for automation manufacturing equipment. Conceptualization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and project managers, to conceptualize and define design requirements based on project specifications and manufacturing goals. Prototype and Testing: Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software and develop and validate design concepts and to perform functional testing. Design Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize mechanical designs to enhance performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness, while adhering to industry standards and regulations Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOM), and design change records. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective integration of mechanical designs with electrical, controls and software components. Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors and suppliers to source components, review quotations, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality parts for prototype construction and manufacturing Continuous improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices in automation manufacturing and mechanical design. Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction and innovation in mechanical design methodologies

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Design and Development: Design and development of mechanical systems and components for automation manufacturing equipment. Skills & Experience

Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) in mechanical design Strong proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks preferred Thorough knowledge of manufacturing principles and commercial technology used as a tool for creation of designs Familiarity with manufacturing processes, such as assembly, machining, welding Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in a deadline driven environment Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Must have valid driver's license
