The Group Performance Leader (previously referred to as Production Supervisor) is responsible for Plant Operations (Safety, Service, Quality, Cost, and Productivity). Key responsibilities include planning and executing the production schedule, achieving KPIs and targets, addressing performance challenges, assigning resources, and reporting performance issues. The GPL champions problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential duties include: Ensuring safety, quality, and productivity KPIs are met; partnering with Maintenance leadership to improve autonomous and preventative maintenance. Managing the Performance Management System. Leading the Department War Room with Safety, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams, ensuring KPI updates and daily performance reporting. Creating daily plans based on reviews and meetings. Supporting safety, quality, and performance problem-solving activities on the shop floor. Administering disciplinary actions in collaboration with management and HR. Supporting continuous improvement efforts, including implementing new standards and procedures. Demonstrating and coaching lean fundamentals, conducting Gemba walks, safety and quality observations, and leading Tier 2 meetings. Assigning work, coaching, setting goals, evaluating performance, and managing staff development and personnel decisions in collaboration with HR. Management/Leadership Scope
This role has full managerial responsibilities, including direct reports, work assignment, coaching, goal setting, performance evaluation, staff development, and personnel decisions such as recruitment and promotions. It is suitable for an early-career engineer aspiring to grow into leadership roles. Qualifications
Education, Experience & Certifications: BS in engineering or a technical field required. At least 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience. Minimum of 5 years in a production supervisory role. Experience with high-volume operations. Six Sigma Certification preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Strong analysis, problem-solving, and creativity skills (e.g., 5-Why). Ability to work independently and in teams, generating results with minimal guidance. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles. Belief in a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Ability to prioritize, organize, multi-task, and use technology effectively (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, SAP, Business Objects). Physical ability to coach and mentor on the production floor for about 75% of the day, sit for up to 4 hours, and lift up to 45 pounds occasionally. Equal Opportunity Statement
