Head Start - Site Supervisor
We are seeking a Site Supervisor under the direction of the Early Childhood Education Coordinator. The role is responsible for the supervision and oversight of the operations of a Head Start center, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, communicating with parents and community, supervising and training center staff, and monitoring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, Child Care Licensing, and State of California Preschool program regulations.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure timely communication of pertinent data from Head Start, Child Care Licensing, and other regulatory entities and act as a liaison to inform governing bodies of issues in the field.
Assist Program Coordinators/Managers in implementing practices and requirements to meet Head Start Performance standards and guidelines.
Assist in the implementation of seamless, integrated services for children and families by adhering to program-specific work plans, policies, and procedures.
Supervise Lead Teachers, Teachers, Teacher Assistants, Substitute Teachers, Coach or Master Teacher of the assigned site.
Monitor the implementation of education services and guide teaching staff in child development best practices.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Must have Child Development Site Supervisor Permit; CLASS certification preferred.
Successfully completed and maintain Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
Minimum of two (2) years administrative experience in a child development program.
Strong supervisory, leadership, and communication skills; experience in conflict resolution.
Minimum of two (2) years direct experience as a Teacher working with young children, 3–5 years experience in a preschool setting with a culturally and ethnically diverse population.
