Information On The Division Located in Livonia, Michigan, the 120+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek’s centers of excellence for design, development, manufacturing, assembly and support of landing gear, actuation systems and other aerospace components. As part of the Central Division you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs supporting Boeing, LockHeed Martin, Parker Hannifan, and military initiatives such as the B-2 Stealth, F105, and V280. With a strong focus on latest technology of the manufacturing processes with machining automation and techniques we aim to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.

Summary The Manufacturing Engineering Technician identifies the appropriate inspection methodologies and programs inspection equipment to facilitate accuracy in our inspections while driving efficiencies in part acceptance (inspection). Other duties will include leveraging your expertise in assisting both Manufacturing Engineering along with Quality Assurance to help improve processes and identify areas of improvement.

Main Responsibilities

Program inspection equipment for Beaver Manufactured products including but not limited to CMMs, Jenoptik optic line, Contour Tracer

Create fixtures for running products on CMMs or other related equipment

Train key personnel on how to use critical/automated equipment

Create, document and implement inspection techniques for best practices for inspecting Beaver Manufactured Products

Participate in “Fast Response” issues to facilitate solutions real time as they happen on the shop floor

Recommend methods for improved inspection techniques or new tools/equipment

Review Op sketches and recommend improvements for clarity

Help reduce Non-Conformances and Products entering MRB

Participate in nonconforming material (NCMR) investigations internally and externally

Participate in internal Quality Audits and Layered Process Audits

Proficient in automated inspection equipment for both use and programming

Strong organizational, time management, and process orientation

Collaborative team player with the ability to coordinate across functions

Five years of inspection experience

Proficient in Inspection equipment programming

Proficient in Inspection techniques

Ability to read Blue Prints

Familiarity and understanding of geometric and dimensional tolerancing
