STRUCTURAL offers a wide range of specialty repair and maintenance services and is the largest concrete repair contractor in the United States, with roughly 2,500 employees working from locations nationwide and in select international markets. STRUCTURAL is the open-shop contracting business line of Structural Group. We are currently recruiting for a Construction Superintendent to be based out of our New York Building Envelope office located in Hawthorne, NJ. As a Construction Superintendent for STRUCTURAL, you will provide high-level management to field leaders, foremen, and our open-shop teams on projects typically consisting of facade/building envelope repair, masonry restoration, waterproofing, and structural strengthening in commercial and industrial settings. Responsibilities
Work closely with Project Managers, Division Managers and other leaders within STRUCTURAL Northeast Participate in pre-project and pre-task planning activities and disseminate planning details to field crews Motivate team members, coordinate work activities with other construction tasks, and assign work based on material and workforce requirements Ensure crews operate all tools and equipment in a safe, proper, and productive manner Provide training and assistance to crews on work-related tasks Assist Project Managers in evaluating production rates Complete essential paperwork clearly and accurately Interview and hire new field employees Provide leadership to our Safety 24/7 culture Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years in general construction with at least 5 years in a Foreman or Assistant Superintendent role Prior experience in repair projects including concrete repair, structural strengthening, waterproofing, corrosion control, facade restoration Experience running multiple projects simultaneously, ideally in a commercial construction environment Ability to supervise various levels of field managers and crews with limited subcontract oversight Ability to read, interpret and execute construction drawings and contract specifications Commitment to safety and adherence to company operating principles Experience producing look-ahead schedules and working with project documents Strong communication with customers, crews and project teams Intermediate computer and construction math skills Salary and Benefits
