The Applied Structural Mechanical Analysis team supports internal and external customers with structural mechanical and rotor dynamic analyses for Flowserve products, including valves, pumps, seals, and related equipment. The organization delivers specialized services across Fluid Flow, Structural Mechanics, Materials, and Product Compliance within Global Engineering Services. Responsibilities

Perform structural, thermal and vibration engineering analyses on pressure vessels and rotating equipment to assess design adequacy against applicable requirements and for R&D activities Evaluate the impact of design modifications on structural design Define critical dimensions of products and components Execute various mechanical analyses and reporting, including torsional and lateral analyses on products such as pumps and skids Utilize classical methods of structural, thermal, and hydraulic analysis Carry out finite element analysis (FEA) of machine components, sub-assemblies and support structures to determine stress, strain, natural frequencies, and damping Review customer specifications and supplier quotations for technical acceptability of the mechanical design Assess FEA results against customer specifications and Flowserve standards for fatigue life and dynamic stability Prepare high-quality contractual documentation per customer/industry codes (e.g., ASME) and present results to customers and stakeholders Compile design reports in compliance with ASME Section III and VIII Divisions 1, 2 and 3 Plan, direct, coordinate and perform structural engineering activities within project budgets and timelines Lead or participate in design reviews and communicate progress and results to internal and external stakeholders Conduct root cause analyses to define corrective and preventive actions Support quality audits and lead R&D projects to modify and develop product upgrades Develop design tools and automate design/analysis processes to improve efficiency Provide management with accurate reports and recommend actions Contribute to improvement and standardization initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance performance Share knowledge within Flowserve Requirements

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 8-10 years in applied structural mechanical analysis, specifically rotating equipment Experience in Nuclear Industry P.E. license Experience in a customer-oriented environment Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; Finite Element Analysis packages (ANSYS/ABAQUS); 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) Skilled in hand calculations and rough order of magnitude estimates U.S. citizen or Green Card Holder Fluent in English Preferred Experience / Skills

Knowledge of complex pump/seal/valve design and hydraulic drawings is a plus Energy, ownership, accountability, and ability to meet deadlines Professional communication across all organizational levels Ability to motivate and improve safety culture Self-motivation and drive to meet schedules Please note: we are not offering visa sponsorship or relocation assistance for this position.
