Responsibilities
Motivate and provide direction to the Process Technicians, ensuring appropriate directions, training, and evaluation.
Develop and maintain the process standards in which all parts are manufactured.
Review production and operating records and resolve technical processing issues.
Follow established action plans for processes out of range.
Specify project management and buy off of new equipment.
Manage exploration of new materials and processes to achieve the best quality, process, and reliability.
Motivate and train the mold setters, ensuring appropriate training and evaluation.
Verify and apply narrow ranges for optimum processes to meet customer expectations.
Compile data and analyze past and current information to assist in the preparation of the budget and reduce operational costs.
Work with tool shops for all tool repairs and maintenance.
Maintain documentation closely, following necessary timelines on specific projects.
Enforce safety rules daily.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Plastics / Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering, Technology Degree or similar (Experience may be considered).
2-5 years minimum experience with Injection Molding with presses ranging from 85-3200 tons.
At least 2 years of experience within the automotive industry.
Willingness and ability to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
Master-root cause troubleshooting and problem solving.
Experience with valve gate, hot runner systems, and scientific injection molding principles.
Hands-on approach and ability to overcome daily challenges.
RJG Master Molder 1 and Master Molder 2 training (optional if not held).
Problem solving training.
