What to Expect
As a Tesla Maintenance Technician, you will ensure the optimal operation of manufacturing equipment through advanced troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, mechanical systems, robotics, and conveyors. Your role involves maintaining system efficiency, minimizing downtime, and collaborating with engineering teams to enhance equipment reliability.
What You’ll Do
Conduct comprehensive preventative maintenance on industrial production equipment, including advanced mechatronics and automation systems
Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC, 3‑phase, ensuring precise fault detection and resolution
Perform in‑depth corrective maintenance on hydraulic and mechanical systems, including diagnostics, component replacement, and system calibration
Diagnose and resolve issues in PLC‑controlled systems and robotics, utilizing schematics and programming knowledge for effective repairs
Operate and maintain all cells on the production line, addressing issues in conveyor systems and optimizing performance
Input and manage preventative maintenance (PM) schedule planning to ensure timely and efficient maintenance activities
Accurately log all maintenance activities, generate detailed reports, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of experience in maintenance for manufacturing equipment, with a strong background in electrical systems, PLCs, and hydraulics
Advanced skills in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems and PLCs, with a thorough understanding of circuit schematics and fault analysis
Proficient in hydraulic and pneumatic system diagnostics, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
Expertise in mechanical systems and conveyor maintenance, with the ability to address complex mechanical failures and optimize system efficiency
Skilled in interpreting and utilizing technical drawings and schematics for maintenance and repair tasks
Strong problem‑solving capabilities with a focus on implementing effective, long‑term solutions for equipment reliability
Essential Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Frequent and repetitive lifting, pushing and carrying up to 35 lbs.; lift 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Frequent and repetitive bending, lifting and reaching to install parts
Stooping, lying, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, twisting and crawling for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including safety glasses, shoes, bump cap, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
