Mesa is seeking an experienced (5+ years) BSEE or BSME for a position in Power Substation Physical Design. The successful candidate shall have experience in Power Substation Engineering Design within the US Power industry. A BSEE or BSME from an ABET-accredited university is required. The candidate will work in a collaborative team environment to provide engineering design support for physical design of Power Substations ranging from 12.5kV to 500kV. As a mid-level engineer, this individual should be skilled in various aspects of physical substation design, able to evaluate project packages for standards compliance and constructability, and mentor junior engineers and designers. Interface and coordination with other disciplines (P&C, Civil/Structural, etc.) are also essential. Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is required. Proficiency in verbal and written communication is necessary. Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain it is a plus.
Education/Experience:
A BSEE or BSME from an ABET-accredited university (required)
5+ years of experience in the power utility industry
Responsibilities:
Perform physical substation design accurately and efficiently
Collaborate effectively within a team and independently
Create deliverables using AutoCAD/MicroStation
Coordinate with clients to meet schedules and budgets
Support project scoping
Attend site visits in the greater Carolinas region
Mentor junior engineers and designers
Review work of team members
Prioritize safety in all work activities
