In-House Mechanic – Maintenance & Repair
We are seeking a skilled
In-House Mechanic
to maintain, repair, and optimize a variety of
offset printing, bindery, and packaging equipment . The ideal candidate will have experience in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency in a fast‑paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain & Repair Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on offset printing presses, bindery, and packaging machinery to minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot & Diagnose Issues: Identify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system failures and implement effective solutions.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop and follow a scheduled preventive maintenance plan to ensure machines operate at peak performance.
Equipment Calibration & Adjustments: Fine‑tune and adjust machines for optimal printing, cutting, folding, and packaging accuracy.
Parts & Inventory Management: Track and order necessary parts, tools, and supplies to maintain an efficient maintenance workflow.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance work adhere to safety regulations and company standards.
Technical Documentation: Maintain logs, records, and documentation of repairs, maintenance schedules, and machine performance reports.
Collaborate with Production Teams: Work closely with press operators and production managers to ensure efficient workflow and minimal production disruptions.
Training & Support: Provide guidance and training to machine operators on basic troubleshooting and maintenance practices.
Emergency Response: Respond quickly to urgent equipment failures to minimize production delays.
Job Requirements
Experience: Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, preferably in a printing, bindery, or packaging environment.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of offset printing presses (e.g., Heidelberg, Komori, Manroland, etc.).
Experience with bindery equipment (e.g., folders, cutters, stitchers, perfect binders).
Understanding of packaging equipment (e.g., gluing, die‑cutting, shrink‑wrapping machines).
Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a factory setting with exposure to noise and moving machinery.
Problem‑Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting ability and attention to detail to diagnose and resolve mechanical failures efficiently.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Required): Electrical, HVAC, or industrial maintenance certifications are a plus.
