Overview
Olsson is seeking a motivated mid-to-senior level structural engineer to join our bridge and roadway team in Fayetteville or Little Rock, AR.
Our bridge group works on a wide range of projects including bridge and retaining walls, dams, storm and traffic structures, inspections, rehabilitations, load ratings, and assisting with construction engineering services. We facilitate designs on transportation projects that include grade separations, interchanges, and stream crossings for public and private clients throughout the Midwest.
You will be able to collaborate with roadway, traffic, geotechnical, and stormwater engineers on projects that make a positive impact in our community while offering you the ability to grow and pick up a wide array of skills.
You will have opportunities to get involved with project management, marketing, proposals, client development, and mentoring technical staff. You will manage projects from concept through construction, making decisions on engineering problems and selecting the appropriate structural solutions that are cost-effective and constructible while working with a multi-disciplined team of engineers and technicians. Occasional travel for site visits or inspection work may occur.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with road, traffic, geotechnical, and stormwater engineers on projects from concept through construction.
Manage projects, solve engineering problems, select cost-effective and constructible structural solutions, and mentor staff.
Contribute to project management, marketing, proposals, and client development.
Travel occasionally for site visits or inspections.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis or a closely related field; a master’s degree is a plus
Strong communication skills and ability to work well on a team
Proficiency with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design
Familiarity with bridge analysis and design programs (LARSA, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, LPILE, SPColumn, MDX)
Skilled in designing prestressed concrete and steel bridges
Professional Engineer PE license or ability to become licensed in 6 months
Ability to become licensed in other US States through the NCEES
Knowledge of ArDOT/KDOT/MoDOT bridge projects preferred
Proficiency in MicroStation
