The Chemical Analysts run XRF, and wet chemistry analyses, collect information about the composition of chemical and processes, and communicate this information to quality lab personnel. Responsibilities
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines. Performs chemical analyses of raw materials, raw mill, kiln feed, clinker and cement, process additions for production, and quality control following plant SOPs, American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) methods. Performs testing, following EPA guidelines, on hazardous waste-derived fuels used in our cement kiln operations. Prepares and analyzes samples of purchased and mined materials, intermedia, and final products using various equipment and a wide array of wet chemistry analytical techniques. Qualifications
Minimum High School or GED Minimum 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting with chemistry, biology, physics, study biological interactions, physical relationships, or relevant cement lab experience. Knowledge of software applications, electronics, and computers along with hardware and software equipment. CMRP Certification is preferredKnowledge of production and quality control processes in production environments SAP and MS Project experience is preferred Proficient in the use of x-ray diffraction (XRD), x-ray fluorescence (XRF), atomic absorption (AA), isothermal calorimeter, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) desired.
