Position Overview Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking a qualified Mechanical Designer to support Mechanical Engineers in developing engineering design drawings.
The position is located at the Kennedy Space Center and is 100% onsite.
Per diem is available for those who qualify.
Major Responsibilities
Prepare 2‑D CAD Intelligent Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) based on sketches and marked‑up prints.
Review drawings and documents prepared by others to ensure incorporation of drafting standards, procedures, discipline standards, and other national standards, as required.
Maintain data integrity of component lists.
Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in the work product.
Required Qualifications
Level 1: Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) with 1‑2 years of experience, or 5‑6 years of relevant work experience without a degree.
Level 2: Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 2‑5 years of relevant experience, or 6‑9 years of relevant work experience without a degree.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office software.
Prior experience with industry‑wide design/drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, PDS2D, PDS3D, SmartPlant P&ID Component Databases.
Experience working in a project team environment to resolve issues and improve processes.
Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.
