Occupational Therapy Assistant, COTA/OTA Position Summary Sky View Rehabilitation and Health Care, a 192-bed Skilled Nursing Facility located in Croton-on-Hudson, NY has an opening for a Full-Time COTA. Sky View serves as your bridge between hospital and home, spanning the gap from recovery to community reentry. Our luxurious and hotel-like environment is the ideal setting for those in need of Post Acute Rehabilitation or Long-Term Care. Our team of highly skilled physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapists really care and work together to create an individualized therapy plan that helps you reach your highest level of functioning in as short an amount of time as possible – preparing for your eventual return home.
Occupational Therapy Assistant, OTA is responsible to organize, and conduct Occupational Therapy programs planned and overseen by the Occupational Therapist to facilitate rehabilitation of those residents who have experienced a decrease in functions.
Occupational Therapy Assistant, OTA will assist in planning, organizing, developing and implementing Occupational Therapy services under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist, to ensure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
Performs treatment programs for assigned residents
Enter billing information in an accurate and timely manner
Report resident progress in meetings, i.e. UR Meeting, Patient/Family Conference as deemed required or appropriate
Consult with other members of the rehabilitation team to coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities
Provide residents with equipment as appropriate
Chart notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the therapy provided to the residents, as well as the resident’s response to the therapy
Perform routine documentation as required and in accordance with our established charting and documentation policies and procedures. Sign and date all entries made in residents’ medical record.
Cooperate with all departments and staff facilitating harmonious working conditions to promote optimal resident care
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy Assistant, OTA
Licensed in NY State as a Occupational Therapy Assistant, OTA; license in good standing
Previous skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience highly proffered
Work well under pressure & willing to work harmoniously with all staff
Sincere desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and handicapped
Excellent customer service skills
Must be able to communicate well verbally with residents, families and staff
Treat residents and fellow staff with respect, dignity, and compassion
Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but
